10 Celebrities whose 2016 was worse than yours & mine

2016 can be summed up in one word–crazy. So many unexpected things went down that it kind of makes us wonder what the heck was in the air. It felt like mercury was in retrograde all year long. From poor Kim Kardashian getting robbed in Paris to Kanye West losing his mind, things got real cray. Here’s a look at a few celebs who did NOT have a good 2016.

Kim Kardasian was robbed.

The reality star hasn’t been the same since she was robbed at gunpoint in October at her luxury Paris apartment. She has maintained a low profile even on social media and has been “very emotional” about the whole thing.

“She’s not ready to talk about anything other than being with family,” a source told People. “She’s barely slept. She had no anxiety medication or alcoholic drinks as she doesn’t do any of that stuff. She’s just got comfort from being around her kids and friends.”

Kanye West had a mental breakdown.

In late November, Kanye West was reportedly hospitalized for “his own health and safety.” After a series of very bizarre behavior, he was taken to UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation and ended up cancelling the rest of his tour. He was placed under observation for exhaustion and was recently released.

Kim and Kanye might be having marriage problems.

According to reports, Kim has been thinking about divorcing Kanye and has been waiting for him to recover from his mental break down before making any kind of decisions. Supposedly, they’ve been having issues for a while.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt split up.

In late September, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reportedly split after two years of marriage and a union of 11 years. Not only were many of us devastated, but also shocked. We definitely did NOT see this one coming. We’ll always have Mr. & Mrs. Smith though.

Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama broke up.

“After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship. This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends,” the couple wrote in a statement posted to Instagram.

We still can’t believe it.

Selena Gomez went through some emotional hardships.

Gomez has been missing in action for a few months, stirring rumors that she was back in rehab. She showed up to the American Music Awards in November where she got open about her emotional health and her 2016 struggles.

“I think it’s safe to say that all of you know my life whether I like it or not,” she said. “I had to stop because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside.” She has been working on her mental peace and staying low key.

Shannon de Lima and Marc Anthony split.

After only two years of marriage, the two officially confirmed their split in November. Marc seem to be moving on. He’s currently producing ex-wife Jennifer Lopez’s new all-Spanish album and even had the nerve to kiss her on stage at the Latin Grammy Awards. Don’t get us started!

Shannon has maintained a very low profile ever since and we can’t blame her.

Mariah Carey split from ex-fiancé James Parker.

The two called it quits in Octoberwhich had to have been hard for Mariah. The good news is she has a hot new guy, Bryan Tanaka, who’s apparently been a backup dancer of hers for years. He’s the one holding her hand.

Taylor Swift experienced her share of issues.

First her breakup with boyfriend Calvin Harris then Kim Kardashian releases video footage of Swift apparently giving Kanye West permission for his lyrics: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.” This was after weeks of Swift swearing left and right that she never gave the permission. Such drama!

Drake got dumped once again.

We were thanking the love gods when we heard Drake and Rihanna were getting back together and wanted to cry when we heard they split up in October. Poor Drake!
